Naksansa Temple was founded by Uisang Temple in the 11th year of King Munmu’s reign of Silla, 1340 years ago.
It is a place of prayer where numerous visitors visit.
Along with Mt. Kumgang and Mt. Seorak, it is located on Obong Mountain, one of the three most famous mountains in Gwandong.
You can get a view of the East Sea at a glance, which is considered to be a famous spot in the Eastern Korea. It is truly a spectacular place, where you can experience the beauty of Korea regardless of religion.
Historically, it had been used several times, but was destroyed during the Korean War and rebuilt in 1983.
Unfortunately, a large part of the wooden statue was damaged by a huge fire in 2005. Currently, it has been reopened and resettled as a peace of mind for many.
The temple stay course is also available through application and acceptance. Please refer to the website contents for those who want to experience the awakening in their life as well as peace.
