Hanji (Korean traditional paper), which has been famous for a long time, is said to have lost its reputation for a while and is looking to regain what it has lost previously. Hanji is also referred to as the ‘100 paper’ because it is said to take 100 touches of the hand to make the Hanji, which takes great dedication and effort that makes it phenomenal.
In the exhibition hall, you learn about how the Hanji is different from a regular paper we use daily, and will also prepare a variety of exhibitions and activities, including the history of Hanji, manufacturing processes, and experience.
Did you know that in the old days, people used paper to make clothes? You will find unique descriptions of various costumes and how to make clothes using Hanji that will have you feeling different sensations.
In addition, there are Hanji crafts where you can feel the beauty of Korea, such as household goods made, and dolls that captures the eyes of children as well as adults.
There is also a Hanji Craft School within this place.
The education takes a total of 2 years to complete and by the end of the course, you will be able to work as a Hanji craftsman.
At the Hanji Experience Hall, you can make various artifacts, such as cell phone ring, hand mirror and dolls.
