Hwasung palace is the largest palace in Korea, and it is a temporary palace that remained at the time of the King’s reign
. It is 567 square meters in size and boasts of magnificent and beautiful Korean architecture.
In October 1789, King Jeongjo moved his father’s grave Hyunryungwon,
and held an appearance at the Suwon Palace for 13 years until January 1800 (the 24th year of King Jeongjo),
during which time he held an appearance at the royal palace.
His mother, Hyeggyeonggung, had a lot of attachment to the place as she came to celebrate Jinchanyeon of Hong in this place.
The Hwaseong palace was also used as a government office where the castle of Hwaseong Fortress was ordinarily used.
However, it was lost after the Japanese colonial rule. As a result, the restoration work began in 1996,
the 200th anniversary of the construction of the castle, and reopened in 2003.
