Gyeongbokgung is the palace of the Joseon Dynasty built by King Taejo Lee Seong-gye, the founder of Joseon Dynasty, in 1395. Beopgung, the king’s palace, was completed during King Sejong’s reign.
It is called ‘Bukhwal’ because it is located in the northern part of the city, and it is considered to be one of the five palaces of the Joseon Dynasty. It was destroyed in the fire during the Imjin War, but was repaired during the King Gojong’s reign and became what it is today.

Gyeongbokgung Palace is located on the back of the majestic Mt. Bukak, a landscape of pear trees.
Among them, Geunjeongjeon is a symbol of Gyeongbokgung Palace, and its wide angle of view is unfolded in a magnificent angle.
The Kyung Hee Lu, a pavilion with magnificent views on the water was formerly a place to hold banquets when envoys arrived, and has become the most popular filming spots among visitors today.

It is recommend to visit Gyeongbok Palace wearing Hanbok.
If you wear a hanbok in Gyeongbokgung, both Koreans and foreigners can enter for free.
There are more than 30 houses around the Gyeongbok Palace to rent hanbok.
It costs about 10,000 won per 2 hours based on general Hanbok
If you rent for several hours, it is much cheaper per hour.
