“Of all the famous places in Korea, this is the best place. The road to illegalities is the place to flourish..”
Il Yeon Monk (The history of the three kingdoms)
Woljeongsa Temple, the fourth parish temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, is located in a dense forest in the valley east of Odaesan Mountain. In 1964, Buddhist monk Tanhuh restored the appearance of Daegaram by continuing on to the Jeokgwangjeon Hall, and then on to the Manhwa and Hyeonhae monk.
Although many of the artifacts and cultural assets were lost in a fire, they have unique characteristics. It houses a number of treasures and cultural assets, including a stone pagoda on the octagonal stone designated as a national treasure.

In particular, the entrance to the Woljeongsa Temple is known as one of the three largest fir forests in Korea. It has been in place for over 1,000 years and has earned the reputation of being a ‘Millennium Forest.’
There are more than 17,000, 600-year-old fir trees growing thickly.
As you walk down the forest path, you can feel at ease and relaxed. You will feel as if you were moving away from the mundane.
Many tourists are visiting as the place became popular due to a recent popular drama that illustrates ‘Millenium Forest’ in such a beautiful and elegant way.
