There is a legend that an elderly couple had a long prayer day in order to bare a son. After the long pray, they elderly couple gave birth to a son and thus it became famous as a popular place for honeymooners and newly married couples.

The village where the park is located is named Sodol Village. It is said that the whole village has a shape similar to cow, and thus named after it. The symbol of this Sodol Village is the cow rock inside the Sodol Son Rock Park. It is considered a symbol of this town because the shape of each of the overgrown black rocks resembles a strong hydrogen.
