Ojukheon is a representative travel destination of Gangneung, and is designated as Treasure No.165

The birthplace of the young man, Shin Saimdang, is said to be Ojukheon Anh Mongryong-sil, and Ojukheon, with the characteristic features of the early Joseon architecture, is currently on the front of the 5,000 won bill.

Shin Saimdang was an excellent artist in poetry, painting, and embroidery, and Yulgok, a thinker and philosopher who formed the wall of Yi Hwang, also called for the “100,000 strong military attacks” against Japanese and Chinese invaders.

Next to Ojukheon, a statue of the king is believed to be over 600 years old, and is said to have been used as a base for the plum drawings of Shin Saimdang and for the decoration of the ink. The guest house, Munseongsa Temple with a portrait of Yulgok, and Eoejegak Pavilion, where King Jeong-jo praised Yulgok.
